While I’m still lucid enough, a few quick and somewhat disparate thoughts and impressions: First, that your assumptions about “integralism” as a signifier are indeed correct: I believe I’ve only ever read it used in reference to, I believe, Franco, Mussolini, and perhaps some quasi-fascist leaders of mid-20th century South America. Your deep explanation was fascinating, I now intend to look up Ben Wilber (I’ve been previously unaware of him and his work).
Next is that I, too, dearly miss Michael Brooks, and I think that his replacement at the Majority Report is very strong evidence towards your claim that his philosophical and intellectual contributions and beliefs have been largely forgotten, unfortunately and perhaps even intentionally (though I cannot prove this).
Along with Mark Fisher and sometime’s even Terence McKenna (from when I was a younger man), I find myself deeply missing Brooks and often despairing that he is not still around to offer his critiques and ideas/projects. 😔
I’m also interested in what you referred to as the New Recovery Movement and its place in this tradition/milieu; I am a recovered drug addict of several years (I did not find the 12 Steps useful to my particular recovery, although I attended many meetings and was very involved in the program for a time). And so I have a curiosity about alternative forms of addiction recovery and treatment.
Lastly, I am intensely intrigued by, and dedicated, to both Cadel Last, Daniel (and Michelle), and their O.G. Rose project, as well as some other thinkers you mentioned. If I only had more time, I would dedicate so much more study to both Cadell and especially OG Rose!
